EU funded OPTICON RadioNet PILOT has started

Until now, there have been two separate cooperation networks for Earth-based astronomy in Europe, one for the optical domain and one for the radio wave domain. OPTICON and RadioNet have now joined forces to form Europe’s largest collaborative network for Earth-based astronomy. Funded with €15 million under the Horizon 2020 program, the project aims to harmonize observational methods and tools and provide access to a wide range of astronomical infrastructures. CNRS will coordinate the project together with the University of Cambridge and the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy.
